How Writing The Pretty Truth Changed Everything (And Led Me Here)

It Started with a Book

When I wrote The Pretty Truth, I thought I was simply putting my heart on paper. I wanted to say the things women were thinking but not always saying out loud. I wanted someone, somewhere, to read it and feel seen. What I didn’t expect was what happened next. Messages started coming in. Quiet ones. Honest ones. Women telling me they felt different after reading it. Lighter. Stronger. More like themselves again. And I remember thinking, wait… this is bigger than a book.

The Messages that Changed Me

The pretty truth is, those messages stopped me in my tracks. Women were telling me I helped them find their confidence again. Not in a loud, over-the-top way, but in the kind of way that matters. The kind where you start speaking up a little more. The kind where you stop apologizing for who you are. The kind where you look in the mirror and don’t immediately pick yourself apart. That’s when it clicked for me. This wasn’t just something I experienced in my own life. This was something I could help other women experience too.

The Real Spearhead

That was the moment that spearheaded everything. Not a business plan. Not a strategy. Just real women feeling better and me realizing I could be part of that. Especially for us midlife besties. Because if we’re being honest, this is the stage where so many of us lose ourselves a little. We spend years taking care of everyone else, showing up for everyone else, putting ourselves last without even thinking twice about it. And one day you wake up and think… wait, where did I go?

I’ve Been There Too

I am not saying this from the outside looking in. I have lived it. I know what it feels like to put yourself on the back burner for so long that you almost forget who you are. And I also know what it feels like to find your way back. To reconnect with yourself. To start showing up in your life again with confidence. That’s why this matters to me so much.

So Here We Are

So here we are. What started as teaching for 19 years turned into a book, and now it’s turning into something so much more. It’s grown into a space where women can come back to themselves. A space where confidence is rebuilt, not forced. A space where you are reminded that you were never meant to be the last one on your own list. And if you’re reading this and something is pulling at you a little, like maybe you’re ready for that too, I want you to know I can help. You can grab a copy of The Pretty Truth and start that shift on your own, or you can book a one-on-one confidence coaching session with me on my website and we can do it together.

The Pretty Truth About Confidence and Community

The pretty truth is, confidence doesn’t just stop with you. One of the most powerful things you can do is help another woman feel confident too. There is something so special about women lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down. That’s where the real magic happens.

Three Ways You Can Help a Friend Build Confidence Today

Speak life into her. Tell her what you see in her, especially the things she might not see in herself.
Celebrate her out loud. Not just in your head. Let her hear it. Let her feel it.
Remind her who she is when she forgets. Sometimes that is all someone needs to start believing again.
