The Pretty Truth About Trying to Be Enough

For a long time, I believed enough was something you reached.

Enough was after the house was clean.
After the kids were thriving.
After I did something meaningful with my time.
After I proved I was not “just” a stay at home mom.

So I wrote a book.
Then I started a blog.
Then I wrote another book.

And here is the strange part. Every time I reached the thing I thought would make me feel enough… the feeling lasted about five minutes.

Then my brain said, okay now what?

The Quiet Pressure We Carry

So many women live with a running scorecard in their head. We measure our value by productivity, patience, appearance, contribution, achievement.

We do not rest in our worth. We calculate it.

If the kids are struggling, we feel less than.
If we are tired, we feel lazy.
If we want more, we feel ungrateful.

We are constantly trying to earn a feeling that was never meant to be earned.

What I Finally Realized

Writing my books did not create my worth.
Staying home with my kids did not remove my worth.
Working harder never secured my worth.

Because worth is not a reward.
It is a starting point.

You were enough before you fixed anything. You were enough before you improved anything. You were enough before you achieved anything. Please trust me on this.

Goals Are Still Allowed

This does not mean we stop growing. This does not mean ambition disappears. This does not mean you cannot want more for your life.

You absolutely can.

The difference is this:
Growth from insecurity feels like proving.
Growth from confidence feels like creating.

Kinda cool how I did that, huh? You do not build a life to become worthy. You build a life because you already are.

Pretty Truth Moment

You are allowed to want more without believing you currently are less. Read that again and spread the word. Women need to start believing this.

Letting Yourself Arrive

I still catch myself doing it. Trying to justify my day. Explaining my productivity. Mentally listing what I accomplished.

And sometimes I stop and remind myself.

Nothing extra is required today for me to matter.

Not the clean kitchen
Not the finished project
Not the next goal

Just existing in this life I am living is already enough. We have always been enough. We just keep forgetting to be grateful for everything we have already done.
